Meet the People Behind PEER Kindness

PEER Kindness is powered by a dedicated team of educators, advocates, community leaders, and volunteers committed to helping young people feel safe, supported, and connected.

Meet Our Founders

Todd & Maya Haynes

Todd and Maya Haynes founded PEER Kindness in memory of their daughter, Caitlyn Nell Haynes, with a vision of helping create safer, more compassionate communities for young people.

What began as a response to profound personal loss has grown into a community-centered movement focused on empathy, belonging, bullying prevention, and youth well-being.

For more than two decades, Todd and Maya have been deeply involved in their local Montrose, Colorado community – supporting local schools, youth programs, athletics, and families. Their commitment to PEER Kindness reflects their belief that every young person deserves to feel safe, supported, and valued.

Today, they continue to advocate for prevention-focused approaches that strengthen connection, build emotional resilience, and empower communities to support young people more intentionally.
